Exposed

Let your pores breathe. Put down the curling iron. It's time to take off that mask and show your true beauty. I use makeup on most days because it makes me feel more confident, but I need to learn to be confident without it. No one needs makeup to be beautiful.

Honestly, it felt so weird to take pictures without makeup. It was just me in a white t-shirt and sweatpants being completely natural. In the end, I was happy with how they turned out, and I'm glad I broke out of my comfort zone.

I'm not going to put these last pictures under behind the scenes because this whole shoot was about me being who I am, and I love these funny pics.

Fight Back

The words "You're not good enough" ring through her head. Self doubt starts flooding in for the millionth time, but now she realizes that enough is enough. Lately she has been kicked down, but not anymore. She is ready to get back up and fight. This girl is not going to let anyone control her anymore; she is ready for a change.

Throughout life there will always be people who don't truly appreciate you, but you must remember the ones that do. People will push you down just for the hell of it, but you must fight back. If they have a problem with you then they can get out of your life. You don't need them.

If you have to change yourself for anyone, they are not worth it. In the cheesy words of Oscar Wilde, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." If you're happy with yourself, that's the only thing that matters.

About The Look:
One of my favorite things to do is to match conflicting patterns and textures together. In this look, I paired a Hamsa hand shirt with gold detailing, a pleated skirt, a bow belt, and cheetah heels! Even though the prints and textures are so different, I feel like they work really well together. I do this a lot with my wardrobe because I love reworking items into different outfits. It can save a lot of money!

Breathe

Take a minute. Take a deep breath and relax. Life is so hectic at times that we forget to stop and take some time for ourselves. If we are always worrying about our busy schedules, we are not truly living. This is what I did in Cozumel, Mexico over Spring Break.

With your feet in the white sand and the sound of crashing waves in your ears, it's pretty easy to get relaxed and take time away from normal daily life. Cozumel was the perfect destination for a truly needed tropical getaway. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

Just remember that you need to take time to break away from your everyday routine, and just BREATHE!

About the Look:
This is more of a bohemian styled look and I absolutely love it. With Coachella being this week, (which makes me quite sad)I thought I would get in the spirit with this look.

That Girl

BANG! POW! KAZOOM! She struts in with her confident personality and outfit to match. This girl is ready to take on the world. Every person in the room stops and stares as her presence fills the entire room. As people talk behind her back, she realizes where they are.... behind her. She will get farther in life being who she is. This girl takes what she wants, does what she wants, and knows what it is that she wants.

In todays society, in order to standout, you must be different. In high school it may seem like you have to fit this cookie cutter personality, but that won't get you far. In the great scheme of life, you will barely remember what you did in high school. To accomplish your dreams you must be BOLD and CONFIDENT.

As I have said before, I have HUGE dreams. This weekend, I visited LA for the first time. Let me just say I was taken aback by everything I saw. This was where I belonged. I visited UCLA and went to Emerson College's opening. Seeing these places made me even more excited, but nervous for my future. It's very difficult to get into these schools. Saying this, I know I will have to work hard if I want to follow my dreams, and thats exactly what I'm going to do.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said "Self-trust is the first secret of success". Just remember to believe in yourself and the rest should come easily. BRAVERY to do the unexpected is a big part of success.

ABOUT THE LOOK:
This outfit is a little too much to wear to school with the sky-high heels, but I think this would fit other, more enjoyable events. I love the pop of color that the green necklace and heels give to the outfit, and I think it gives more excitement to the outfit.

The Girl With the Flowers in Her Hair

Once upon a time their was a girl who wore flowers in her hair. This may sound like a fairy tale, but she was not a princess. She gets the right grades. She has lots of friends. She's the good girl, but this fairytale facade can only stay up for so long.

This girl chooses the wrong guys. She wants things she's not supposed to want. She falls in love to fast, and ends up with a broken heart. She dreams to big. This is the side of her few people see. The side thats not supposed to be shown. She must find a way to balance the yin and yang. The angel and devil on her shoulders must find a compromise.

ABOUT THE LOOK: Spring is right around the corner (at least for us Californians) and everyone is starting to shed the layers of winter. The sun is starting to come out, and soon the flowers will be blooming (hence the flower crown in both of my looks)!

The First look: This look gives off more of a girly, innocent vibe with the little lace detailing of the shirt, and all the other little touches of the outfit. This outfit is very versatile and can be worn for various occasions such as a date, a family outing, or any occasion you want to be slightly more dressy for!

Look 2: This look is my absolute favorite! I love the grungy look the combat boots give the outfit and the edgy feel the whole outfit has. When I wear this, I feel so punk and edgy.....even though I'm definitely not. I see this look at a concert, a day with friends, or a look ready for a crazy night!

Dreamer

Here's to the teens who can't fall asleep because of the big dreams floating through their minds. Here's to the teens who have been called crazy for even dreaming at all. Here's to us.

My name is Jordan Stewart and I am a dreamer. I am only 15 years old and I dream of a chaotic fashion-filled life. Here are some of my crazy dreams!

Dream 1: Have a successful fashion blog.
Well this is the first post on my new blog and, I'm crazy to want one that prospers. Even with this doubt in my mind, I want it.  A good friend of mine, Shelby, has a fashion blog called cagedinclothes.blogspot.com, and she has inspired me to make this. I love fashion and writing so I thought I could put them together and make this!
A picture of Shelby from her blog.

Dream 2: Live in a Big City
The lights! The glamour! The hustle and bustle! I love it all! A big city like New York or LA is where I belong.
Me overlooking New York.

Dream 3: Write for a fashion magazine.
This is the biggest of all of my dreams and I know it will be difficult. I love all magazines like Seventeen, Allure, Vogue, Elle, and many more! Working at any of those, especially Seventeen, would be, obviously, a dream come true.

This blog will show my journey to hopefully make these dreams a reality through my favorite thing, fashion.

Below are just a few pictures I've taken, but on my next post I will have a full styled outfit.

Thanks for reading and I hope you follow me on my journey chasing my dreams :)
XOXO Jordan
